Cord Stick® Manifold

The Cord Stick® needle manifold is simply a device for diverting one stream of incoming blood into two streams for the different sample tubes. One in, two out. An 18 gauge needle is attached to the single nozzle side of the manifold and punctures the umbilical vein. Blood flows through the manifold to the double nozzles and through the two 20 gauge needles into the two Vacutainer® Plus sample tubes. A small plug closes the central manifold channel. Although colored blue in this illustration, the manifold (like the tray and the barrel) is made of clear plastic.
